Danielle Steel has created a wonderful story filled with world events as well as local struggles. There are many inferences one can glean from the unusual story of twins, whose opposite personalities may be considered two sides of the same person. Great read!
What a story. What an incredible love story for both sisters. I loved every minute of this book. It made me conscious of short comings in my own marriage which I intend on repairing.
Danielle after reading many of your other books, I've got to say this won takes the prize.

It shows how two children raised the same and looking exactly a like can be so different.
Awesome book! If you love Danielle Steel as I do, you will love this book.
Have read this book over 50 times since I was young. You will love this book. I can't even put into words you will laugh cry want justice and be happy.
Once another great book. Danielle Steele keeps you in the book until the end. So happy she continues to share her gift of writing with us!
The story of identical twins got my attention, and is the reason I purchased this book. It was so slow, that I nearly stopped half way through. I kept reading because I was curious, and I read it on the , where it is a little more difficult to peek forward!

It was just plain corny. A perfect estate on the Hudson in NY. Two beautiful, glamorous, rich twins -- perfect in every way -- from the tiny waists to beautiful hair, delicate features, impeccable taste, horseback riding skills, blah, blah, blah. However, they are completely identical except for a small mole -- and except for their personalities. Olivia is the perfect attentive daughter, perfect flawless hostess, perfect sensitive sister, homemaker, etc. Victoria is the opposite--a completely self absorbed beauty searching for excitement in the early 1900's.
Victoria falls in love with a dashing, but very-married scoundrel. She gets pregnant, he dumps her, and (after a miscarriage) she narrowly avoids a huge scandal by being forced to marry the very guy her dear sister secretly loves. Of course, he's handsome, smart, successful, wonderful, and wants a mother for his perfect son.
After the perfect wedding, Victoria just can't get over the dastardly married guy who very cruelly and callously dumped her. Her new husband knows it all and still wants to make the marriage work, even though she completely avoids the dear boy, and rejects her understanding husband.
Most of the book leads up to the SWITCH, which is a fairly obvious after all the endless blathering about how identical they are. It seems like the author is just trying to add pages by rehashing how breathtakingly beautiful the twins are, how identical they look, how they switched when they were kids, etc. Over and over and over and over and over again.
There are a lot of errors in the editing -- maybe the conversion to the through some sort of OCR. Some words just pop up and mean nothing.
This is my first (and probably only) Danielle Steel novel.
This book has a major flaw but I still loved it. Victoria and Olivia were identical twins who were very close and the book stated over and over again that the only people who could tell them apart were Bertie, the housekeeper, and Geoff, Charles' son. First, this is kinda insane. My first serious boyfriend had an identical twin and it is an amazing thing to see how 2 people are so physically alike. But after 2 minutes you can tell them apart, everyone could. I would not doubt which was which even in the dark. But let's say they were the exception to the rule. Once the twins switched what happened to Bertie and Geoff being able to tel them apart? Aside from this flaw I still loved the book. I was sad when it ended. That is a sign of a good book to me. I highly recommend Danielle Steele's The Ring, her best novel, to me. Also, Message from Nam, The Promise & Ghost are great books.
